Sometimes, a Beautiful Disaster
Veronika is a Czech artist who fuses fragility of material and abject qualities of others. Its art. You're not supposed to touch it. But Veronika’s work begs to be touched and tasted. Untraditional materials ferment and congeal into new shiny and flat flavors. Her recipes include elements like honey and salt with traditional paint and other dangerous objects. Veronika simulates the endurance of the intimate human experience; the skin on warm milk, the distorted self-image reflected and smeared lipstick. Through this work she beckons the viewer to engage by synthesizing confrontational materiality.
